La lista nos ayuda, también, para otra cosa: notar la profunda crisis en la que se encuentra la filosofía moderna. Más allá de algunas ausencias que fortalecerían este listado, es indudable que si se compara con una hipotética lista de 1900 a 1950, la lista actual quedaría vapuleada. Si imaginamos uno de esos juegos de futbol como los de Monty Python entre filósofos de la primera mitad del siglo y filósofos de la segunda, el resultado sería escandaloso, tipo 7-1 o algo así.
